The geography of California is full of surprises. One minute you’re looking out at miles and miles of mountains into the distance; the next minute a Even though we, humans, were the ones walking amongst these beings, I imagined that the trees themselves were full of movement. The Sequoias seem to walk the forest by the will of their immense presence. Some scolded by fires, others fallen, but most still upright, still standing on their own. To walk up to one is to approach a sacred being, a thousand-year-old sage. The feeling of looking up and up (and up) at these trees cranes your neck, but the view of the endlessness is incredible.
